University of Peace, Costa Rica
This collage is from my all too brief visit to the University of Peace, in Ciudad Costa Rica. "Students" from around the world complete Master Degree Programs in Peace Education and other peace related fields of study for one year. In this photo are members of a class that I visited, thanks to Jen Scharf, (Vancouver, Canada) another resident at the Mckinney home who is attending the University. Photos include Peace Park.
AYYAM-I-HA
Ayyam-i-ha is an annual celebration for Baha'is around the world occurring during the last few days of February. In Costa Rica and the U.S. a common gift-exchange game is played by kids of all ages. The basic premise is to bring an inexpensive wrapped gift. Who goes first in selecting a gift can be determine in several ways. Two of the more common methods are by selecting numbers from a hat or going by age with the youngest starting first. The first player gets to select the first unopened gift. The remaining participants may pick an unopened gift or select one already opened. In the latter instance, if the first person had their gift taken, they could take an unopened one or select one that has been opened ( except the one they just had take). There are variations on the rules but it's basically the same. If you now of similar games, please share them. Enjoy the photos that follow.

Inside Prisma Dental, Costa Rica
As mentioned in my earlier post, I came to Costa Rica for extensive dental work....bone grafts, implants, root canals; you name it. Costa Rica and Prisma Dental were wonderful choices for many, many reasons. Thank you Prisma! Here are a few reasons why.........
Prisma Dental is very high-tech. On the top is the lounge area complete with Internet access. All of the action goes on behind those spotless glass doors. Next is the Prisma lab. All of your teeth---everything--is made right here. This is an important factor as it ensures the greatest control over the final product under the supervision of Dr. Cordero and having changes made on the spot when needed. The work is spectacular. And, no, I am not getting paid for this. I am just very thankful for the wonderful work that I have received here and highly recommend them to anyone else.
