Ayyam-i-ha is an annual celebration for
Baha'is around the world
occurring during the last few days of February. In Costa Rica and the U.S. a common gift-exchange game is played by kids of all ages. The
basic premise is to bring
an inexpensive wrapped gift. Who goes first in
selecting a gift can be determine in several ways. Two of the more common methods are by selecting numbers
from a hat or going by age with the youngest starting first. The first
player gets to select the first unopened
gift. The remaining participants may pick an unopened gift or select one
already opened. In the latter instance, if the first person had their gift taken, they could take an
unopened one or select one that has been opened ( except the one they just had take). There are variations on the rules but it's basically the same. If you now of similar games, please share them. Enjoy the photos that follow.
